2022-2023 Professional Development Incentives
We are excited to release the 2022-2023 Smart Start Professional Development Incentives Application.
This program supports teaching staff of children ages 5 and under working in a licensed child care facility in Caswell County by providing a monetary incentive, based on current education level, continuous years working in the same facility, and the number of college courses successfully completed in the past year.
Applications are due by May 18, 2023.
Important reminders for new staff:
· Early childhood professionals that do not have at least an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, must complete at least one approved birth to five focused college course.
· The Early Educator Certification (EEC) is REQUIRED.
New this year, we will offer group and one on one information sessions in the fall to anyone that is new or interested in the program and has not applied before. These sessions will address questions and provide step by step instructions to help staff determine which college courses to take or what the EEC is and how to apply.
We also plan to offer a special session for Directors and other Program Leaders in order to help you understand the program and the application process and be prepared to assist your staff.
