This training combines early oral health best practices and sanitation guidelines giving early care and education programs the information they need to establish a tooth brushing routine in the classroom. Beginning when the first tooth emerges, child care administrators, caregivers, educators, and staff play an important role in young children’s oral health. Brushing with fluoride toothpaste is an evidence-based best practice to prevent early childhood tooth decay and recommended in the child care setting by Caring for Our Children National Health and Safety Performance Standards-Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs.
